On October 27, the Netherlands Maritime University and the Guangzhou Maritime University (China) have signed an Agreement of Cooperation to promote the friendly exchange and collaboration between both universities.

A high ranking delegation from the Guangzhou Maritime University visited the NMU in order to exchange information on the type of education and to explore the possibilities for an international Bachelor –Master program. In this program the students of the in China unique Maritime university will be able to enter the MSc Program Shipping and Transport in Rotterdam after completing their Bachelor program in Guangzhou.

The Guangzhou Maritime University offers, among other programs, studies in Navigation, Marine Engineering, Ship Building and Ocean Engineering and Port and Shipping management. Students from these programs will be offered the possibility to enter the Master program in Rotterdam. Both parties have recognized the complementary effect and will look for other possibilities in exchange programs for students and lecturers.
